Zirconia Based Pins

Strong and tough FMM zirconia pins offer long life, no risk of shorting, reduced part and friction damage due to high wear resistance and high impact strength. Excellent for robotic applications, they can exceed the regular metal-coated pins by up to a factor of 50. FMM zirconia pins assist in reducing the costs through less frequent replacement and reduced production downtime.


 

On the left are some of the composite pins. They offer combination of high hardness and non-conductivity, provided by the top portion of the pin made of ceramics, and high fracture toughness and impact strength, provided by the bottom part, made from metal. On the middle and right are the monolithic ceramic pins ideal for welding operation.

 

No signs of wear were detected on the zirconia pins, whereas extensive wear can be observed on the ceramic coated metal pin. Catalogue standard and custom made pins are available.
